Jamie MacKenzie and Sam Spence are first time house buyers and have recently moved into a new three bedroom Hampton house-type at our Boadicea View development, off Little Casterton Road in Stamford – What’s more the whole process only took 3 weeks from viewing to moving in!!
“We first saw the advert for Boadicea View in our local paper”, says Jamie, “We hadn’t really been looking to buy but Bloor’s offer really attracted us. Being able to fully own the house but pay only 75% now and have up to 10 years to pay the remaining 25% was too good to miss. We didn’t even need to find a deposit as that was part of the package. When we actually visited the site though and saw the house we were knocked out by the quality and the amount of room. That really put the icing on the cake”
“The whole process has been absolutely brilliant”, added Jamie. “Bloor Homes arranged everything and Shirley the sales advisor on site could not have been more helpful. Bloor organised the mortgage and solicitors for us and when anything came through that needed a signature, the paperwork was all marked up telling us what to do. Any time we had a query, Shirley didn’t just advise us what to do, she actually sorted it out for us. She even picked up paperwork from the solicitors for us. Obviously it must be more difficult for people buying a second hand house but for us at Boadicea View there was almost nothing to do. We were really pleased and impressed.”
Jamie and Sam are also very happy with their immaculately finished new home. “Dean, the site manager has dropped in a couple of times to check everything was OK and anything we wanted, he’s immediately sorted out for us. We’ve only had a couple of tiny problems though but it’s nice to know the help’s there if you ever need it.” says Jamie.
The Hampton’s accommodation includes a fitted dining kitchen, living room, three bedrooms all of which have fitted wardrobes, two bathrooms, garage and gardens. A special feature of the property is a lavish master bedroom suite which occupies the entire top floor.
“Now we’ve moved in we’ll be inviting our friends round, there’s plenty of room for them to stay over if needed,” they both commented.
Jamie and Sam work locally at a haulage and distribution company in South Luffenham and so have no problems with the daily journey. Excellent shopping is almost on their doorstep in Stamford and Peterborough’s excellent facilities are only 11 miles away. For weekends away they can take the train from Stamford railway station which provides services to London Kings Cross (1hr 28mins).
With higher deposits being demanded and mortgages in shorter supply, arguably the group of people worst affected by the current credit crunch could be first time house buyers.
