Christmas Competition Surprise at Stamford

Date:   04/01/2008
Region:   South Midlands

Mary Clarke, an eighty year old grandmother was the winner of a Nintendo Wii competition the Stamford Mercury ran in association with Bloor Homes this week.

Mary of Firs Avenue, Uppingham was picked from hundreds of entries to win the console after reading about our development at Little Casterton Road and correctly answering questions compiled by the newspaper.

She is delighted to have won the coveted Christmas gift, which is worth more than £300, and plans to give it to her twin grandchildren, Joe and Megan, 22.

“I shall let my grandchildren have it but not before I’ve had a go on it. I shall be with them on Christmas day, so no doubt we’ll have a few games on it.”

To celebrate their latest development, off Little Casterton Road in Stamford, we managed to get hold of a Nintendo Wii console, acknowledged as one of this Christmas’s most sought-after gifts and gave it away as the competition prize.

Alison Keen, the sales representative on site, said: “We are delighted that Mrs Clarke won the competition. It’s a wonderful gift that she’s obviously going to enjoy with her family.”

Dean Martin, the site manager, handed over the prize to Mrs Clarke.
He said: “Mary’s a lovely lady. All the people at Bloor Homes, Boadicea View wish her and her family a great Christmas playing with their new Wii.”
