The Hollies makes its mark in Derbyshire regeneration

Date:   23/07/2007
Region:   East Midlands

Three months since our Burton development opened, we have been making our mark in the locality with purchasers keen to capitalise on the potential rise in values and the affordable house prices when compared to other commutable Midlands cities, Derby, Birmingham, Loughborough and Leicester.

Situated off Moira Road in Woodville, on the outskirts of Burton-upon-Trent, The Hollies comprises 56 three and four bedroom houses. As an important phase of a multi-million pound redevelopment scheme being jointly pioneered by us, a 120 acre stretch of former industrial land is undergoing intensive regeneration over the next five to 10 years to steady the infrastructure in the area following the decline of the mining industry.

Marjorie Gregory. Sales director at our East Midlands region said: “The Woodville and Swadlincote district will be transformed over the next decade with huge investment in the form of new homes, landscaped areas and potential new employment sites. This in itself has been a great incentive for purchasers to invest early in their chosen plot, especially as they are likely to receive higher than average capital growth on their property as the construction programme continues.

“As this takes shape we are discovering that a lot of our purchasers are choosing this location for the superb infrastructure it offers. The A444 links commuters to A38 and M42, which in turn take drivers to M1, M6 and the M6 Toll Road. From here you can commute to Loughborough, Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, Ashby and Birmingham within an hour. So for young purchasers this means they can get more for their money still within easy reach of their place of work.”

The Hollies follows on from the huge success of Hawthorne Meadows; our first scheme in the area which proved a huge success with the local population, the vast majority of purchasers coming from within a 15 mile radius.

With prices from £165,950 for a three-bedroom house and from £210,950 for a four bedroom, The Hollies offers fantastic value for money and to date sales are mixed with Woodville locals upgrading as well as purchasers relocating here for the aforementioned infrastructure links.

There are currently 17 properties available for sale, including the three-bedroom Walsham house type with a single garage from £165,950, the three storey Hampton townhouses with three bedrooms including a fantastic master bedroom which takes up the entire upper storey from £172,950 and the four-bedroom Dovercourt with single garage from £210,950.
