Promising new stylists do Bloor Homes show apartment

Region: East Midlands
We have unveiled a show apartment at its Coppice Rise development in Chapeltown, where two previously unheard of stylists, Liz Osborne and Caroline Spray, have done the interior design. As sales negotiators, the pair is typically more familiar with balancing the books than choosing fixtures and fittings, but after years in the property business they felt more than equipped to take on the challenge.
Liz said: “Having worked in property for so many years, we’ve both seen countless show homes and have a good idea of what prospective buyers like and dislike. In the past we’ve found that some interiors look good on the pages of glossy magazines, but in real life can isolate some buyers. Ultimately, people want a home that looks like a home rather than an art installation. This doesn’t mean that homes should not be stylish- people certainly want their homes to look good, but they also have to be liveable.”
Caroline added: “We are in the very privileged position of getting to show people around their future homes, and this means that we have heard firsthand people’s opinions of dozens of show homes. Often buyers are just as turned off by overly styled properties as they are by unattractive interiors. We felt we were capable of getting the perfect balance between the two, creating a home that is both practical and stylish- and looking at the finished product we think we have achieved this.”
Coppice Rise is situated off the highly regarded White Lane in Chapeltown. The scheme comprises a mixture of 14 houses and 21 apartments, with a selection of four bedroom executive designs currently available from £275,000, and two bedroom apartments on the market for £145,950.
Marjorie Gregory, sales director of our East Midlands region, commented: “As sales negotiators Liz and Caroline are totally in tune with buyers’ wants and needs. They have also seen countless show homes and so were able to take the most successful elements of what they have seen and incorporate it into their design, and so far we have had very positive feedback from all who have seen the apartment.
“Set in a leafy suburb, Coppice Rise is a very popular development that has gained a reputation among the local community for its outstanding quality, and we feel sure this new show apartment will only increase interest.”
We have specially selected the different styles of houses at Coppice Rise to be sympathetic to its picturesque surrounding which, with its abundance of trees, is completely different to most people’s perception of a newly built development.
The show apartment has been designed with real people in mind, and Liz and Caroline have sourced many products locally.
Coppice Rise is less than five minutes drive to junction 35 of the M1 and just ten minutes to the shopping haven of Meadowhall. Chapeltown itself has all the vital amenities; a wealth of shops, services and facilities lie within the town centre and local schools are very well regarded.
